Meet Chef Fred Ruiz, the award winning executive chef at CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa.
Chef Ruiz's fun and creative attitude has led him to explore the fusion of global and Mexican cuisine, as he learned to reconnect with his Mexican roots. Since 1986, Chef Ruiz has dazzled guests at some of the Marriott's most prestigious locations; New York, Chicago, Denver and now Puerto Vallarta.
Some of Chef Fred Ruiz greatest accomplishments:
- He cooked directly for Presidents Nixon, Ford & Reagan. He also did private functions for the late Frank Sinatra along with other famous stars in the Palm Springs area
- He was recognized as having the most improved food & beverage leadership team in America's mid-west region which led to his acknowledgement as manager of the year
- Chef Ruiz was awarded for two years (2004 and 2006) with the Marriott's International Culinary Excellence Award
- In early 2007, he became a Business Council member overseeing all gastronomical updates for Marriott's Mexico, Caribbean and Latin American hotels
